Our dental office participates with Patterson
Dental Canada Inc. in the following areas of quality assurance and
dental equipment maintenance:
X-ray Testing – Yearly testing of
intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays according to provincial and
federal regulations.
Digital X-ray – Our office uses digital
x-ray technology to significantly reduce radiation to patients and
staff.
Preventive Maintenance – The dental
equipment in our office is maintained on a regular basis by factory
trained technicians from Patterson Dental Canada Inc. Our goal is
to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently, safely and that
our dental team is aware of the proper care, use and maintenance of
our dental equipment.
Waterline Testing – Our office has dental
waterlines tested annually to monitor the water quality supplied to
the dental instruments.
Waterline Bio Films – The Ecolab Clear
H2O™ is used in our office to reduce the risk of contamination in
the dental unit waterlines.
Sterilizer Testing – Our office performs
spore testing on a regular basis to monitor proper sterilizer
operation.
Mercury Recovery Program – Our office has
installed a mercury recovery system to recover mercury waste and to
prevent contamination of the environment through the municipal
waste system.
Hand piece sterilization – Our hand pieces
(dental drills) are sterilized after each patient to eliminate
cross contamination.
